Readme File:
This is a patch for Faiakes Mod 2.2

For each fix there are instructions in each folder.

- Replaced cat sounds with original snork sounds (lion)
- Fixed: Agroprom crash (thanks natasha8384)
- Fixed: Dropping items issue (thanks natasha8384)
- Fixed: Burer body search crash (thanks natasha8384)
- Fixed: Dwarf and long arms zombie icons (thanks natasha384)
- Increased price of silenced MP5 to 15.000

heh, sorry about this late fix after faiakes already posted the patch.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: No matter what you do in the game, your reputation is terrible. The problem was isolated to mistakenly assigning a negative value to killing your enemies -- thus your reputation can't be anything but terrible.

FIX: Errors have been corrected (taking caution not to unbalance this mod by over-correcting it). The default values were used to correct errors.

NOTE: No need to start a new game -- however, if you are already far from the beginning you'll be barely able to notice any improvement in your rep since you accumulated a high "terrible rep". When you start a new game you'll notice immediately that your rep goes gradually from neutral to good, etc .. (depending on your actions)

OTHER: Thanks to farcrychris and the_real_meepokman for pointing out the "terrible rep" regardless of what they do in the game.

HOW: Download the file and put it in:
gamedata -> config -> creatures
and let it overwrite the existing file in that folder (or you can backup the file elsewhere beforehand)

I don't think it was so much a bug as a deliberate direction.
Taking on any quest that involves killing a person gives you a negative rep.

Anyway, if this makes it easier, then that's fine with me.

CRASH

Can anyone ( natasha8384, farcrychris...) confirm this for me?
When first entering Garbage, save Bes but then go across the road kill the 5 bandits, go further right kill the 2 bandits, the dogs, the 2 zombies, and whoever, reach the gate to Rostok and then attempt to go back. At that point my game crashes to the Desktop.
Obviously, it happens to me because I don't tend to follow the events of the game as requested but take my own approach.
Can anyone else recreate this?

That sounds like the same crash that happened to me a while back that natasha and i spoke about, i could get it to happen again though

First of all: great mod and great support for it
however, I think I have a problem with the latest patch - the reputation one:
I only have this mod, so I downloaded the reputation fix and started a new game and I had my reputation increasing so I thought it is ok, however after a couple of hours I decided to check it again and it was very bad and some time later it turned to terrible again. I didnt kill any NPCs just the enemys.... Anyone knows what I did wrong?

Poor overworked faiakes thinks it's a fake! Sorry guy it aint....

This starts to happen a couple of hours into the game (I've restarted so many times now I know the script better than GSC) around GarbageAgropom area. Any ideas, firstly, why it is happening and, secondly WTF does it mean?

Still a great MOD despite the above.

faiakes - regarding the "terrible rep", it's not just negative rep points for taking quests to kill, but rather all enemy kills that were scored down. Maybe the rep thing in the PDA should be disabled in your mod so that people don't wonder what they did wrong since there is no way to earn any other rep but terrible. However, the fix doesn't change the gameplay and relationship among actors in any noticeable way, just the rep thing. ... yeah .. either way, it's a cosmetic thing rather than any serious bug.

ill test the file as soon as I will be able to (should I start a new game again then?I'm kinda getting used to it now, coz everytime theres something that I think I could have done better so I start over - I completed the game anyways) however I wanted to not that imo the reputation does affect the gameplay: e.g all the people I helped before (giving medkits, helping protect their camp etc. turn from green back to yellow during the course of the game) and another thing that confuses me now: I am sometimes able to kill people with it having no effect on other people around (e.g. I can shoot duty guys in the bar area and they all still stay neutral to me) I know that in the original stalker you could sometimes kill some stalkers with the ones around not minding that but the duty in the bar is weird to me. All the earlier posts about people randomly attacking player for no reason might have something todo with this too, I think. (e.g. I got half of the bar mad at me after a couple of fights in the arena, now in my new game Im scared to try it again - maybe its something to do with the people in the bar and the arena fighters being in the same faction or something) You might want to pay closer attention to the reputation thingy.
P.S. sorry for the long post, just thought I'd share my experience and I'll make sure to post test results ASAP.

with the 2nd (new) reputation file I'm right now picking up docs to be taken to Barkeep (after Strelok's hideout) ... killed pretty much all enemies (bandits, monsters, soldiers, helped Bes, etc) .. reputation is "very good" so far. it went from good (pre-garbage) to very good since I put the second file in.

no, you don't need to start a new game after installing the second file if you are not bothered with the rep thing being somewhat lower. I try to run fast through the map so I can see if it's working or not. definitively fixes the reputation thing .. at least so far in the game and I think it will work further too.

I installed the patch as said in the readme-folders, but the game still crashes at agroprom. I really don't know what happens, because I never get an error report. (the game freezes and then returns to desktop)

Strange, the fix really works for Agro cut scene crash. Maybe you put in the entire folder instead of just the file. Anywho, below is the link to the file without any folders:

There's no reason that someone can't download that mod and run it with Faiakes (as far as I know) hence I think it should be left out, some people might find it annoying.

People be careful when downloading and installing the VideoCC mod on top of faiakes mod. Initially appears to be working fine but if you try to access the sleep/dream mode dialog the game will crash. One of the shared files needs to be merged rather than overwritten in order that Video CC and dream/sleep function work side by side. Maybe faiakes will put it in the next version ... not sure tho.

yeah .. several files can be changed to impact the reputation, but I didn't want to make multiple changes at once and possibly change the "feel" of the mod as you imagined it especially with sanex on board. so I stayed pretty much on the safe side ... lol , like killing an enemy doesn't reflect as a negative rep ... but yeah more can be done smile

Hi, i posted this yesterday at the 2.2 thread, but it wasnt answered for some reason Cry

Anyway, Im at the part where you meet kruglov for the first time. I talk to him and i agree to help him. Then right after the pda beeps to tell me the quest has been completed, the game crashes to desktop. I tried taking away the pda folder in sounds/device folder. But it still crashed. I can't test whtether its the mod or the game cuz kruglov is pretty far into the game.

So i hope someone can shed some light into this situation smile

Whoah weird occurance just now, i've cleared out most of the bar on my "killall" playthrough..and suddenly an npc spawns on my map, out of no where.
And it's neutral, only freedom mebers have been neutral to me so far as im killing loner's and duty members right now
But i walk over, and he's duty called "German Agent" and hes standing there, continually throwing bolts into a fire.

no reports so far on crash near Kruglov or crash involving PDA when talking to Kruglov. The only difficulty with Kruglov is that he's very slow to go through that tunnel when going towards Yantar Lab ... and it takes lots of patience to wait for him.

A sort of solution if you are using this mod only (without any other mods) is to rename your "gamedata" folder (or move it elsewhere), redownload faiakes 2.2 and the patch on this page and install it. That will create another gamedata folder with original mod file setup. You should be able to use your saves that you created previously using this mod . So .. then try to go another round with kruglov. Your saves should work perfectly fine with the new installation .. unless you have some other mod installed.

it seems that the REP fix is working pretty good. as soon as i turned in the documents to Barkeep my rep went from "very good" to "excellent".

I don't see any negative reputation given from various quests in the task_manager.ltx but I saw there was a severe repetition in rewards given by the NPCs so I decided to mingle with the file and vary the rewards but nothing too overwhelming.

I did before making that post. You don't always get 9x39 ammo from Vor or 5.56 ammo from Lukash, among other changes.

I tried reinstalling the game and patched it to 1.0003 deleted everything about stalker b4 reinstalling btw. I installed only faiakes 2.2 and the 2.2 mod patch. Loaded the save where im about to talk to kruglov, but it still crashes. But now im sure its not the pda sound that is the problem. Cry

when the game crashes it automatically puts the error code into Windows clipboard.. try opening Notepad and right-click paste -- that will put some 4 or 5 lines of error code. See what it says or post it here.

you don't need to find the clipboard ... the error is automatically ready to be pasted into Notepad. So just open the Notepad and Edit -> Paste

i am running all around that area with Kruglov, from the cut scene on, trying to replicate your crash. It seems that part is rock solid. No crashes at all. Will try several more times, but am starting to think that you are dealing probably with a corrupted save. Try a few tricks ... like as soon as you are close to the area your game crashes try hitting "Esc" key and save game under a different name, then continue. It'd be nice if you have a save before the last one that you can re-run a small section of the map.

You can also check the game error log manually which is in folder:
C -> Documents and Settings -> All Users (or Your Name) -> Documents -> STALKER-SHOC -> logs
When there check the only file with .log extension. Open it in Notepad and scroll down to the bottom and maybe the last 5-10 lines will tell you what the problem is. This is best done right after a crash, even if you don't get any messages on your screen.

if you have winzip, it will also open the files. Personally I use Universal Extractor http://legroom.net/software/uniextract , a nice, feature-rich, and free software.

must admit the sig ammo is mislabbled as i went and spent 20,000 fu kin rubles on .45 acp ammo like it says it carries(which i thought was so cool)an then only to be able to pull it out an it has 20 rounds in it total.............grrrrrrrrrrTwo Thumbs Down!

I don't know if this is the same thing happening but, I've also had the "Invisible Light Source" phenomenon... Once, while I was looking at it trying to figure it out a "Body" suddenly appeared and it turned out to be the headlamp of a dead NPC...

I've also had the "Mini-Map" indicate a body but when I was standing on the exact spot, no body was there... Sometimes I'll get the "Search Body" message and when I hit the "Use" button I'll get an "Inventory" screen that I can take things from... Sometimes I won't... Other times, if I came back to the spot later, a "Body" will appear...

I've also had "Invisible" weapons lying on the ground that I could hear as I walked over them but couldn't see and didn't get an icon for so I couldn't pick them up that would then later suddenly appear...

Don't know if this is related... Just thought I'd pass on my observations... wink

have the flashlights too, but I think they appeared with the 1.0003 patch not with the mod, cant be sure tho
I also get clumped monsters and sometimes different types too (e.g. sometimes when I go to the garbage from agroprom, right after I spawn in the garbage I have a huge spawn of bandits/ cats/ dogs/ boars spawn right behind me and huge lags as a result too, and alot of other times I had various other monsters/enemies spawning/traveling in tight groups of up to eight)
the military guys you have shown at the screenshot are military stalkers, there should be an entry about them in the enciclopedia under factions I think...

Have the invisible bodies and weapons too (they might have come with the 1.0003 patch to but not sure again) but its not only that: some other objects that are just lying around the map (artifacts, medkits, etc.) tend to disappear (if you save-reload your game while in the area) and appear later, when you come back to the map

yep ... "invisible light source" bug is a part of 1.0003 patch, not the mod. i think wizzard0003 is right, sometimes there is a significant time delay of displaying bodies and objects on the ground and sometimes they don't appear at all .. they are invisible but are there. fun stuff .. smile

you made me stop and think for a mo - and no, I wasn't running another mod, BUT i WAS using a trainer which 'froze' ammo ie gave unlimited - I stopped using it, started afresh and voila!

However, (isn't there always one of those!) I have a new prob. Don't know if it's a game bug or related to Faiakes....see what you (or faiakes) think.

I'm in X18 sorted out the 'invisible' fire entity, grabbed the documents and ran back downstairs.....the door is still sealed by the now deceased fire entity and won't open - msg under cursor says 'somone's holding the door closed'. I know from getting past this point on the vanilla version that specnaz soldiers should be attacking me by now.

ok, I finally got around to testing the second reputation fix and I'm pretty sure it is safe to assume - it works (if its not obvious already...): started a brand new game, cleared out all of cordon and garbage and about to enter agroprom - reputation stays at excellent

regarding the bandit monster spawns - just wanted to remind you that they were already reduced in 1.0003 patch and I personally think that was a good thing because I found it rather unreal to, for example, having cleared out the bandits at western garbage and just running back to the central hangar there to sell/store the loot from the bandits and running back to the agroprom entrance to find the bandits there again!
I think that the human enemies respawns are generally OK right now, though, I have no objections to increasing the number of mutant spawns (however in some areas they are quite significant already: in the eastern garbage, every time I come to that map, I always find a pack of about eight blind dogs, for example

I have invisable flashlight projection, invisable monster and people corpses, and invisable weapons aswell, the monsters and people and weapons always eventually come back but that random light is just weird

you know the duty guys who guard the end oh the garbage and how the leader of them has a shotgun? well one of the lights is coming out of his feet lol

also i believe that the clumped snork and clumped zombies are meant to be a type of mini boss put in by the sanex mod, not sure though.
also perhaps those are the "military stalkers" people are always going on about, it looks to me like that strongest military armour in the trader's inventory that i've never seen an npc use before, i gues now they are

heh ... yep that would mess it up smile . I quickly checked the repair mod .. it seems if you installed it on top of faiakes it would overwrite the following sections:

system.ltx
character_desc_bar.xml
character_desc_escape.xml
character_desc_yantar.xml

Now the changes don't have to crash the game necessarily (if you start a new game) , but just looking very quickly into these files, it would seem that you at minimum lost CARRYMOD and ANTIGAS features from faiakes 2.2. On the other hand, I think all weapons in faiakes are non-degradable so whether you really need a repair mod within faiakes' mod is something you may need to reconsider. Anywho .. good luck smile .

This a bug in the game and a very annoying one at that - it waists my time. Not from the mod.
I think there is a fix but it may make old saves incompatible.

RESPAWNING
I definitely want to increase the numbers of animals in Cordon, and maybe the bandits (a little bit)

CARRY MOD
I can confirm now that:
Your ' low crouch ' key has to remain ' (left) shift ' in order to be able to drag items/bodies. If you remap most of the keys (like I do) you won't be able to drag anything, only pick up explosives.

re CARRYMOD keys -- could you checked that again. I use "c" for crouch and c+v for low crouch and have no problems lifting/dragging/moving bodies and objects with Shift+F.

Seems that EVERYBODY HATES ME!!! And I play nice guy mode. Garbage, bar, rookie camp. In the pda its a red 2.15. Since I can't take my firearms into the bar I get smoked before I can even talk to the barkeep. Which means no more missions. I have patched it with all available patches so I'm at a loss. The only thing I did different was to side with duty and wipe put the freedom base, but that should have made me tight with duty, no? And if I fight back at the bar camp it'll turn EVERYBODY against me, duty lets me in but some guys seem really *****ed at meCry

try the file below. it will manage your reputation better. I'm assuming that because you have a "terrible reputation" that everyone is turning hostile towards you after awhile (in pda you can click on Stats and see your rep). Below is the second version of the reputation fix.

Note: no need to start a new game, but if you are pretty far from the beginning than you won't notice much difference since you accumulated lots of negative reputation points. The difference will be obvious either if you are close to the start or start a new game.

oh, i don't think you are doing anything wrong. it's just that faiakes is using 7z format to zip the files and Windows doesn't have anything built-in to extract the files. So you need to download something that will open the files.

check here: http://www.7-zip.org/

if you have winzip or winrar, they will also extract the files.

i think you may be running some type of auto-install ... try a more simple install method -- right click on the downloaded file (.7z) and select extract and choose which location to extract to. Then from that newly extracted folder simply move the "gamedata" folder into the main game folder:
x -> Program Files -> THQ -> S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl

if you've never had any mods installed than you need to edit one line in the "fsgame.ltx" file (the file is also in the main game folder). Open the file in Notepad and change "false" to "true" in the third line from the top to look like this:
$game_data$ = true| true| ....etc.

Pretty much you should be able to run the game with mod now .. at least I can't think of anything else smile

A little note on that one.. Even though items are non degradable in Fajakes there are still plenty of damaged weapons you loot. Especcially playing without unique weapons in trader makes it very very difficult to find a unique weapon which did not lose ~20% quality. Of course it wont degrade anymore but I also find it a good thing to be able to repair them for a little fee.

This mod is so nice but this all panic stuff is getting annoying, im talking about 2 quests

one: the one in dark valley when ur suppose to save that duty fella and they run like hell when you killed the bandits.

second one is when you return to gordon and get the destroy the mercs, now that one cant be finished, it allways gets failed it seems. Either they run or when you killed them and are on your way back it get failed.

Not that it matters that much, some of the reward you can buy but i like to do all the quests, hate getting the feeling that i missed something other then killing the stalkers i never do that.

weapon, corpse, lightsource -invisibility aswell as the tricky Garbage quest are regular 10003 bugs. A lot of quests can either be screwed or finished in an instant using fastsave/fastload. As soon as you load a game each NPC's assignement in your vicinity is reset. Each NPC makes a 360° sight-turn in order to properly set its assignement again.
In Bes' case it leads to completely forgetting the mission to save the garbage and offensivly trying to attack the nearest target (most likely a bandit en route beside the garbage). This is has all been experienced in the unmodded version of the game.

Run the hell to Bes as soon as you enter the area WITHOUT saving and loading in between, get the job, run the hell to the bandits forming to attack and hope they dont kill good ol Bes before you kill them

some 'purge area' sidequest are instantly finished saving and reloading at the spot when there was nothing to purge in the area in the very time you save/load (for example as soon as you get the quest randomly on entering an area).

Sorry for the talking my mind free. Just thought I'd like to mention.

i can up view distance. and object textures.. a notch or 2.. with no performance hit..game looks better to..i had to lower gamma bright and contrst a bit.. new drivers the game is more bright..just seems better graphics period..

so any of you folks with 7 serise vid cards should up date your nvid drivers..

oh ya.. my vid card seems to run a bit cooler under load..

the "arguments" in your error report is not complete. Not sure if this will work, but try this:
1. go to the files you downloaded (stalker_faiakes_v22), unless you deleted them in which case re-download
2. find "gamedata" folder in that download and continue to config folder. It should look like this:
Stalker_Faiakes_v22 -> gamedata -> config
3. From the config folder copy "system.ltx" file
4. Now go back to the STALKER game directory itself (from which you actually play the game) and paste the file into the "config" folder (allow to overwrite):
gamedata -> config
5. try playing ... you should be able to continue with your saved games

Well, first of all many thanks to natasha8384 and faiakes. I already finished the game previously without any mods and thought I had enough of this beautiful game. I obviously got bored, no more games to play, so I though why not have a look at mods. I have to say that this mod is so far shocking lol. Hell that made me want to play the game again lol.

Ok the problem is in one of the special missions, it’s not a crash or something really serious. This is really from the memory of my earlier times that have I played the game.

Ok, its the mission were you have to find the documents in X16. As you proceed through to the second locked door, you reach the room were you see that orange creature that gives off the fire. After you kill that creature, I remember you falling unconscious and watching one of those miniclips. After that as far as I recall the military straight away say they are about to storm in or something. Well basically I didn’t get that miniclip or the military saying they’ll storm in, plus I didn’t fight any military in that area. However, when I got out of this area back to dark valley the military finally appeared.

I only have this mod, that’s it. Everything else is fine so far for me. I love this mod, so damn HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a bug with the A-life mod. You need to stack boxes outside the door before you go into the room with the orange thing. It will prevent the door from closing and just walk out. The army will not appear until later.

yeah, in x18 don't worry about the miniclip not showing the game continues and runs fine. The soldiers upstairs were ... well, eaten by a-life. Basically (with sanex) since life and movement in the zone continues whether you are there to see it or not, sometimes you'll "miss" to fight the enemies that were attacked by monsters or whoever before you got to that spot ... and sometimes they moved to a safer spot and you'll fight them later just in greater numbers. for example, in the CNPP you'll also most likely notice a very small number of monolith soldiers and suprisingly large number of monsters -- meaning, monolith guys got wiped out by monsters before you got there . anywho , enjoy smile

I think in A-life, the insane number of monsters or increased enemies is unrealistic and should not be done. Since when did all this huge monsters appear out of nowhere and in large hoards? The base game is hard as it is and the A-life mod would be perfect if the monsters where not in such huge numbers.

Ok I started a new game and played it in good guy mode. The only job I took from the infromant in the bar was kill the master stalker. Upon return not everybody, but a hell of a lot of stalkers are hostile to me. Including the guard in the bar. Can killing the master stalker do this. It never did before. Its driving me nuts. Anu ideas. BTW I've used all the patches. Cry

Well, looks like there are still some flaws to the second reputation fix, because I've been using it and maintained excelent rep through cordon, grabage, agroprom, bar and wild territory. However I'am now in the Freedom base area and I was quite amazed to see my reputation at "Terrible" again. And it might be what gunslinger49 posted above me, because that quest was among the ones I have already completed in the area. So... more tweaking is needed I guess.

well .. we'll keep tweaking it till it's fixed. yeah, i ran with the fix for quite a while into the game and it was holding fine. however, i didn't get as far as you did. in general it's much easier to have friends, but also much easier to turn them into enemies. ... so it seems that taking the quest to kill master stalker ends up with negative rep -- ok, we'll check it and see. the task manager shows some positive rep gained after almost every quest so the problem must be somewhere in the relationship files .. like maybe the entire class of stalkers on that level is friendly because you helped one of them so you'd get positive rep points for completing the quest but they would be negatively offset by killing a friend or a neutral. ok .. we'll get on it smile

as far as I remember the only stalker I actually shot for the quest was the military guy who hides in the agroprom western swamp, all the other ones I killed with explosives (or they died on their own - evil campfires), even the master one. But then again, It might not be the killing, but the actual taking of the quest, because I loaded my autosave when I was just entering the army warehouses (freedom base area) and my reputation was already terrible. Last time I think I checked my reputation in the bar, after that went to the wild area, cleared it and got kruglov to yantar (without actually entering yantar) and then went back to bar to give back the rifle and on to the warehouses.
(just thought it would help you guys pinpoint the cause of the negative rep)

are you guys sure you are using the version 2 of the Rep fix (it's under the post #13)?
I just tried again the following:
1 . i had "excellent" rep in Bar.
2. took the quest to kill a soldier from Barkeep
3. at the same time took the quest to kill Master Stalker from Snitch
4. at the time of accepting these quests the rep stays "excellent"
5. ran north and killed Master Stalker and his (neutral) pal just for good measure
6. rep is still excellent after the killings
7. ran back to the bar and collected reward from Snitch (mama's beads and what not)
8. ran south, killed a few soldiers on the way, and killed the Soldier in the trailer in the swamp
9. rep is still "excellent"

If you guys have saves (I usually have like 10-15 saves on different points in maps so I can go back and test things) could you go back and test this again. Just make sure you are using Rep Fix version 2 (post # 13 or here:

forgot to mention ... try to kill as many enemies as you can when doing the quests that involve killing a "neutral" to offset some of negative points you'll get for killing a "neutral". Another suggestion (if you don't have this already enabled) is to have crosshair colors turned on just till you figure out who is who there so you are sure that you are shooting enemies (red) and not a bunch of neutrals (yellow/white) ... lol .. i did that too many times .

Thanks for suggestions, natasha but I'm 100% sure I'm using the second fix. Speaking about killing enemies, I kill anything 'red' I see and always clear the whole area when I come in. And another thing - I said I've been to the wild area before going to the freedom base, and another thing might be the arena, because, I remember when I was using the first rep patch and went to arena, fought a couple of battles and on the exit from one of those battles found half of the bar shooting at me. Also before venturing into the army warehouses area (freedom base) I got quests from the duty leader, because for some reason duty guys dont shoot you for going into their territory too early and no alarm message comes out, so that might also be the reason (e.g. they don't shoot you but you lose reputation as a result of tresspassing or something)
And yes, I do have the croshair color enabled and, as I said before, I think the only neutral I ever shot was that soldier in the agroprom western swamp.
P.S. Ill be away from my computer for the next month, so I won't be able to help with testing. Good luck to you guys however.

The install info for Faiakes Mod v2.2 (from stalker_faiakes_v22.7z download) says:

"1. Double click the file. It self-extract. Extract it anywhere you like (it is NOT an installer).

2. Place: gamedata (folder) + UImod (exe) + uicontainer (folder) in: ..."

Alright, the version I downloaded from here is not self-extracting. I takes 7zip to extract the files. That's fine, but makes me more confused about the second line. The version I have downloaded does not contain a UImod.exe or a uicontainer folder. There is a readme for UImod in the readme dir, but that's it.

Do I have the wrong version downloaded? I re-downloaded, with no luck. Do I no longer need to have the UImod/uicontainer stuff? Do I need to download that stuff separately now? Grab it from some earlier version of Faiakes's mod? What do I need to do here?

Also, in the readme, it mentions doing a quicksave and quickload. Can you do those? I'd really love to be able to do quicksaves/quickloads but can't figure out how - The Stalker manual makes no mention of it.

the reputation is in pda when you click on stats .. it's a word like "neutral" , "excellent', "terrible", etc. I can't get my reputation to suddenly drop from "excellent" to "terrible", so it seems like the fix 2 for rep is working fine. i did start a new game tho when i started testing. Maybe faiakes can also test and see if there is any sudden drop in reputation. I did pretty much all side quests, even didn't follow general sequence of events and is holding. anywho, definitively report back if the problem is still there -- better to fix it before the next version smile .

when you reinstall:
1. faiakes mod 2.2
2. the faiakes 2.2 mod patch (this page)
3. if you have any problems with crashing around garbage area:

About the Reputation fix. It works perfectly well for me. I kill the master stalker and gunned down a hell of a lot of baddies but nothing is wrong. I maintain an excellent Rep. Try killing the master with a knife. Mabye other stalkers saw or heard you killing him.

@Faiakes: I've noticed the napalm and phosphorus grenades can be launched from very long distances like a mortar, but the normal VOGs disappear if you try the same with the new ones. Can you try and work those VOG, VOG-P and M209 'nades so they don't disappear if you attempt firing them more than 50 meters away from the target?

Also, they are more powerful than standard and I had to tweak them manually. I also altered the original RGD-5 and F1 grenades so they are actually more useful if anyone wants to check them out.

Actually, you really can join Duty and Freedom.

On the Gamespot forums, someone managed to join Freedom, and he was neutral to all bandits and Mercs, but was hostile towards Duty. The Duty soldiers at the Bar didn't shoot him, but they still registered as enemies. Also, Professor Sakharov also showed up as enemy, but was still able to trade with.

Quicksave before entering the underpass with him, it can take some time crossing sometimes. I've assisted by constantly making the Burner anamolies active with bolts.

This is a known problem with the launcher grenades, probably something to do with range or something. Like I mentioned above, phosphorus and napalm work without those troubles....I have no idea why but fiddling with certain parameters for them in the weapons.ltx fixes them as I got the VOG nades working but not the M203 ones.

yeah, Kroglov spends about 10 minutes in that tunnel testing every freaking anomaly he can find. I think that's the part where in order to enhance realism ("NPCs are not blind" or similar) some patience is required.

that special Groza and special G36 are there on purpose smile ... it helps with testing when you need to start a new game to test a feature and for people who find the game a bit too difficult the first time they are playing it. Anywho, avoid it in a regular game play when you want a bit more realism and difficulty.

When I installed your patch I put in the files which were said to fix the pickup/drop bug.

It doesn't do anything. I still have my Stalker Gas Mask suit and I can't pick up anything, as it did before the patch.

BTW Faiakes, I already merged Show Reward mod into my Faiakes, along with Artefact Activation 1.3 and Blowout mod 1.1b. If you want I could send you the merged file...

the pickup/drop bug fix definitively works fine. Make sure you put the files in the right folder. If that is OK, then try to reassign the keys to their default functions and see if that helps -- it seems that certain function key combos don't work very well (as reported by faiakes) with drop/pickup/drag (use Shift+f) ... specifically look at possibly reassigned crouch and low crouch keys (i'm using c for crouch and c+v for low crouch and don't have problems, but faikes said that some other keys may not be working in combo with the pickup/drag function .

I remembered you said to use the explosives, i'm just unlucky, theres always one of those psycho stalkers near the ones i need to assassinate, and they either headshot me, blow up the explosives before i manage to get away from it or in the case of using the explosives to take out psychos, they're too smart and hide behind stuff or run if i shoot the explosives xD
Ah well, its possible, just makes it a bigger challenge!
I suppose the psycho stalkers are there cos of the reputation bug, i have the fix of course but im too far into the playthrough for it to take effect, ill tell you if i still get psycho's in the next version though

Great mod but.. could you reduce the amount of mutants spawning? The addition of the new mutants is great but there's way too many and it's kinda ridiculous. Having important NPCs killed during quests by a random horde and one of the scary things about the game was mutants appearing rarely.

Actually, I think there aren't enough mutants spawning.

About finishing 3/4 one of my games I realized that a ton of cats, zombies, and fleshes were almost non-existent in many of the maps. Cordon and the Garbage, usually hotbeds for Fleshes, almost had none by the time I finished off the Brain Scorcher. I only found a few in Dark Valley.

Zombies (the melee types) also were missing @ those areas where they are often common in the beginning. Same with the cats. Do they actually respawn at all? confused

@Faiakes: I got the file now, so what exactly did you alter in se_respawn.script? What I touched were the SimMaxCounts and the idle_spawn_presets with little success except NPCs in Wild Territory respawning. I look forward to starting a new game. smile

The bandits and mercs respawned more often right past the sniper posts and the bandits behind the train cars with my alterations.

The way to make NPCs fall down injured (got this info after asking on the GSC forums) is to alter the following lines in xr_woulded.script:

def.hp_state = "20|"..state.."@nil"
def.hp_state_see = "20|"..state.."@nil"
def.psy_state = ""
def.hp_victim = "20|nil"
def.hp_cover = "20|false"
def.hp_fight = "20|false"

I believe the numbers mean a percentage of health or hit points. I changed mine to 30, monolith back to 20 and zombied NPCs 35 (default was 40).

Some armours degrade, unlike what the mod says...

I have a Guardian of Freedom (I think) armor and I realized it degrades unlike The Invisible Stalker bandit outfit. :

I hit a duty member with about 10 phosphorus grenades and he was still alive, then I 1-hit him with a VOG

when i first installed the mod, i was met with a great performance boost with the dynamic lighting (due to the float 32 mod) but for some reason my performance has dipped back down to single digit fps for no apparent reason, i put the game back on to static lighting and it is fine but when i go back to dynamic, it is unplayable. any suggestions?

I've beefed up some defense among most armor, particularly the novice and bandit suits. My "Fair Trade" trader alterations (optional, if you don't want access to everything from Sid and Barkeep) are there as well.

from the screenies it seems your dialogs files are messed up. If you are sure that you don't have any other mods installed and that you are running faiakes 2.2 + patch, then:
1. go back to your downloaded faiakes 2.2 files (extracted files before you installed them)
2. find and copy the "eng" folder from:
Stalker_Faiakes_v22 -> gamedata -> config-> text
3. paste the "eng" folder into your:
Program Files -> THQS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl -> gamedata -> config -> text
4. play
--note: it's always a good idea to make a backup of your gamedata folder just in case something goes wrong and you want to go back--

Even an easier way is simply to remove or rename your current entire "gamedata" folder and reinstall faiakes 2.2 + patch in a clean and empty gamedata folder. Your saves will work fine. Do this only if you are 100% sure you don't have any other mods installed, otherwise you'll have to start a new game.

1. go to: gamedata -> config -> weapons
2. in Notepad open this file: w_ak74.ltx
3. find the line beginning with: inv_weight

I installed the 2.2 mod and patch. After killing dog’s, monsters and some zombies, I get a weird green square near the bodies. I suppose this has to do with the Float 32 mod, or I might be wrong as well. I use an Nvidia 8800 GTX card with the latest drivers (on Win XP).
Could somebody tell me how to troubleshoot this problem?

I renamed the shaders file, installed the suggested float.32 mod (the Nvidia one, thanks Natasha 8384) and the green boxes didn’t appear any more. Thanks a lot guys I can go on now and play the game for the second time!

Ok , I've been playing the game as a good guy. Never shoot neutrals, only hostiles. About halfway through my rep went to terrible. I took the mission against freedom and after that all duty guys were green(friendly). So I load up on a ton of stuff and head back to the bar for my final load out. All duty guys are friendly and half way to the bar I start to spot enemy stalkers. Make a mad dash for the bar and get popped by the friggin guard at the bar. It really baffles me as to why these guys are *****ed. So what I wind up doing is running like hell through the compound and fight my way through to the wild country(freedom & monolith) and see what happens.

regarding decreased performance -- Float32 Shaders usually improve performance. However, you'll have an almost opposite effect if you use the "-no_prefetch" executable switch with Float32. Basically, lots of stutter.

So, kill the "-no_prefetch" and you need to re-enable "full dynamic" in order for the Float32 to perform its best.

OK, I downloaded both Float32_1.5267a.msi and Float32_1.6077pa_test.msi, and neither seems to fix the green blood square problem for me. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's some special other fix version I can't find (some comment mentions something about an "nv" version and a 7zip, but I can't find any trace of those).

Anyway, I just ran the msi and it asks for a directory, so I specify the Stalker dir, and it installs without a complaint. I presume it's overwriting the previous float32 stuff in the gamedata dir.

When 1.5267a didn't help, I uninstalled and tried the 1.6077pa, with no luck.

FYI, I'm running a XfX 8800GTX video card in Vista 32bit.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Alternately, how do I remove float32 from faiakes - do I just delete the shaders dir? Or will that impact other parts of the mod?

Float32_1.5267a.msi will definitively cause green blood on Nvidia 8800 series and many ATI or no blood at all on Nvidia 7 series. manually delete the entire shaders folder from the gamedata folder. then reinstall either Float32_1.6077 (tester) or for somewhat more reliable results these two:
Float32_1.5157a_NV.exe
Float32_1.5157a_NV_Cumulative_Patch1.msi (not really necessary for Nvidia cards but it won't hurt it either)

not sure if it matters but..

i use the -noidtro -noprefectch and the float fix posted more early in the posts rename to shaders2 etc..

i notice. my system studders more..more movement lag if i do not use -noprefetch

i have no blodd probs or green and i do have blood spaltter.. as to eye candy..with or with out..i see no real difference much with or with out prefetch..tho.i do want to say..i think with out -noprefetch..graphics do look a hair better..but im not really sure its true or more wishful thinking..

i know i read if you use noprefetch. floats mod will not work.. also.i have a bfg 7800gtoc.. as you read in many places some system get better performance with -nopretch..

so im not sure it makes a difference for some systems either way..may sound odd..but my game looks much better and works much better each of faiakes mods i install.. so the mods do help my game look and run better and using -noprefetch..

i find if i have any studder or movement lags..i bump back my view distance..maybe object details.. or light or shadows distance.. or even textures details..i can take out all movement lag..and at a hair less pretty game.. which i cant run everything at full high settings any way..so.

and each of faiakes mods ive installed.my game looks and plays better with each new mod.. infact with faiakes 2.2 mod.i was able to bump up my ..well some of my sliders a hair..

so..im not sure all fixes work the same for all systems..sorry to say

as for my game..what ever you guys have been doing and tweaking the mods what ever is working great for me..ha ha i just hope that for some odd reason.or changing or tweaking things in next mod..will not hurt my game ..i hope it gets better and better as it has.. tho many changes trying to cater to every 1 or system..can change quality of game for others.that did not have probs what ever that others seem to have..

thanks alot.. i make mention of filefront and faiakes mods any place i talk on this game..you guys gals are great..you made my stalker game worth playing..and its now my favorite game..tho im taking a short break from it..see what these new patches are going to do..or waiting to see if a new faiakes mod might be coming out..

Right well I've got an ATI Radeon X1600 graphics card and i get green blood but as far as i can tell the fix mentioned so far is only for nvidia cards....

Other than that, which doesnt bother me all that much, this is a great mod... i swear I've gotten better performance since I installed it and all... cheers

the fix works in most cases for both Nvidia and ATi. Some ATi and some Nvidia 8 series displays green blood, Nvidia 7 series displays no blood.

I still have a rep problem after applying rep fix2. Loners still attack me in the bar area. Making it impossible to play the game. Is there any way to reset accumulated bad reputation from saved game? I havent done a single assasination mission and still Loners hate me.

Another thing is that game crashes to desktop after I die - probably at the moment when cameras should change to show my body.

Is there any logfile with errors or possibility to turn on a debug mode to be able to see source of problem?

I found a lot of bugs in the weapon descriptions. The Toz-34 says its range is 1000m but it's a shotgun. The ZM LR-300ML says it has a range of 300m but if you scroll down it says 400m, so which is it? And the Sig SG-550 (sniper) has .45 in its description but it actually shoots 5.56.
Also what's up with those weapons that have maxed stats but only cost 50 ru? Unless it's a bug I don't think you should include cheating mods like that, or at least throw them into the optionals folder... by the way, it would also be nice if you'd move the weapon camo skins into optionals, because not everybody wants all their weapons to have camo patterns (they look silly if they're found on practically every single weapon except pistols) and sort out every skin by themselves if they wanna remove them.

it seems that occasionally neutrals will start shooting at you for no reason. I was looking at that problem (tho I've never experienced it in my game) and it seems that the bug is somewhere in sanex files. The same type of hostile-for-no-reason behavior has been reported by AliVe users. At least to me, this unpredictability (good and bad) seem to be the reason why GSC restricted NPCs and revised their ideas of A-life in a much more narrow parameters than originally envisioned. So it may not even be a bug, but just a consequence of opening the door that should have been left closed ... lol .

So far the good news is that it doesn't happen very often nor to too many users. I'm not sure if the official 1.0004 patch will open wider some of its a-life, or if the promised SP SDK will be able to better define some of a-life's variables.

if you don't have a save before entering the room then it will be tuff since you need to replay maybe a longer section. ... or you may try exploiting the physics bug by jamming/dropping a weapon into the door until you get lucky (see some posts above on that topic).

Use boxes that are laying around to put in front of the door so it doesn't close, problem solved, however the door will still be on fire just walk through it.

you mean the rep thing .. yeah, I'm not sure if any further changes to those sections would neutralize Faiakes intent. I put zeros before " ; " because they were causing really a bad rep quickly. But otherwise, if this mod is recommended to be played on master difficulty these things should maybe stay. There is one tricky thing here (and I kinda like it since you are talking about relatively experienced players playing this mod) and it's the positive points for helping an enemy .. now when you quickly scan a fighting scene that guy will appear "red". Let's assume that he's attacked by a bunch of dogs. You start killing the dogs because they threaten you too and at the same time the attitude of your enemy is changing towards you because you are unintentionally helping him survive the dog attack. Then you kill the enemy guy and actually by then he maybe already your "friend" or a "neutral" by the amount of goodwill towards you. So you basically pick up negative points right there. I usually let two parties fight it off unless they are "friendlies" to begin with.

However the problem of neutrals shooting at you for no apparent reason seems to be more related to sanex since AliVe users also report the same hostility from neutrals without having the same relations file setup.

I think the rep fix is holding pretty good but it can be tweaked further if necessary. I haven't experienced the "bad neutrals" problem so can't say much about it.

oh .. forgot to mention (and no edit button .. lol) .. there is a rep bug in the game itself not related to any mod. It's been reported around the events when taking the quest to kill bloodsuckers. Maybe the upcoming 1.0004 wil help resolve some of these things.

I've been able to temporarily fix insane(x) neutrals by messing with negative values in gamedata/config/creatures/game_relations.ltx. I, have just put zeroes instead in mos cases. My rep is still terrible, but maybe soon I'll earn it to some descent level.

And a word about crash to desktop if you hold addon-weapon. Lets take for example mp5 with silencer and scope (weapon id: wpn_mp5_m3). Its required to add this id to mp_rank.ltx in rank_4 section adding also apropriet coma. After that game stopped to crash for me (npc's may evaluate if my dropped weapon is better than theirs - thats kinda weird anyway, that this fires after player is already dead). mp_rank.ltx can be extracted from data.dbb file

I believe ALL miniweapons cause that problem unless you add it to the 'rank_4' section as I have done. I think that should be added for the next version foir Faiakes.

The relations file is fine as it is now , but the real cause of a sudden bad rep is elsewhere. It usually happens when the player has "a way too good rep" and then it bounces into its opposite because of the game bug. I isolated it and need a few games to test it. If it works , it will require starting a new game.

@274: I don't know why but my game crashed when I died carrying the pistol slot rifle weapons up till I added that line to the ranks file. It crashed the second the world model is dropped from my hands..

I've never experienced that type of crash with weapons whether NPCs are scanning it or not. I think that one not fully known variable is how many bugs are in the game itself. Sure, these are probably minor bugs but every now and then they surface and then they got into saved cache and so on. Like for example my game was crashing on an early MP5 in slot 1 mod and everybody else was doing just fine frown ... lol .. I hope that 1.0004 patch at least fixes most of these things. Frankly, I was hoping that they 'll create/enable co-op mode, but that won't happen. Oh well ... still this game rocks as it is smile

Your mod look very good but it run only one time on my game, after a short party i want launch the UiMod .exe, and now my game don t want launch : picture of stalker apear (no DOS Windows ) bugtrap begin (you known grey box with : Please Wait.... inside) and stop here ===> rutern on the deskshop, bugtrap don t pop up anyway (just please wait and that it , after that dispaer !!! )

i delete stlaker and rйinstall it, (in french and in english) many time , delete all stalker folder (stalker shock, bin, gamedata)

I put your datagame in stalker's folder, change the value false ===> true, i add the Uimod (uicontainer + the .exe, it 's ok ?) but nothing i can do be work the game.

Only solution is delete the game data folder. Just rest the ui .exe and container.
If i remember well, it's work one time whit no ui mod, but in your read me file, it look like we must have it.

I try the XP fix like you say in your bug section. no change...

I am confused because that work one time and i love the attak of zombie of the start (very cool when all the stalker shoot the zombie and the cats) i love the "interface" bref i love your mod !! smile

i think i made all the right things for that work and that doesn t work, but all guy i see on internet work for him, desappointed am i .

Hi guys, first off nice work on this mod(s), its what stalker should be!
Right i seem to of managed to get around the terrible reputation more than fix it. (i changed the game_relations.ltx file AFTER i got a "terrible" reputation by the time i made it to the barkeep for the first time.)

do forgive if this makes no sence as im not really into this side of things too much.

What i basically did (i think lol) was just make the points at which the reputation gets worse a lot lower. doing this instantly brought my reputation back to neutral and the game seems to be playing as it should. I changed the first few lines to this:

Did you actualy have a problem with reputation? It is quite a workaround. I cannot do much about it as I never had a reputation problem and I think it is a game bug and not a mod bug (which I suspect is the reason why they had deactivated reputation).

yer the duty guys were just starting to shoot me for letting off a weapon at some boxes lol XD must say was a nice show of the awareness of the AI though LOL stick out tongue

but yes had the reputation p[roblem develop very slowly first time, actually happened a lot quicker this time round after the second fix (although i was watching for it more, only affected me after the first lab before the fix by natasha rather than going to see the barkeep for the first time) also was a gradual slide down the slope going from bad to very bad to terrbile. (think i shot the guys that are holding a guy hostage just before you go help bez and i mean all 4 of them lol) which may not of helped, but was lot later it went to terrible.

Btw i only did it like half hour ago and checked it was working a little bit but will play 2morro more ater work hopefully. but it has now reset my reputation to neutral so im taking a guess n saying its working for now.

If its ok with you faiakes if any one wants me to email them the file i can, just send me an email first (whoever wants it) for a return address (im lazy).

Once again cheers for putting this together.

O also about the green blood, i just cut the shaders folder natasha talks about earlier and it has given me lots of red blood splattered up the walls now (nvidia 8800gts with forceware 158.45. problem sorted and me getting my daily dose of blood spray stick out tongue

Sorry for the delay in bringing the new version (which is going to Rock ) but I am still without a main PC.

First my RAM gets misdirected (3 weeks delay)
Then the new motherboard (MSI P35 Platinum) proves to be dead (+1 week delay)
Today I received the replacemet motherboard (Asus P5N32-SLI Plus) but realise I left the Tuniq 120 backplate in the MSI box when I returned it frown (I'm guessing at least + week delay, if they find it at all)

Until I have my main PC running all I have is the work laptop and obviously that is barely able to help me.

I'm liking this mod a lot but I seem to have run into a problem trying to go to Wild Territory after taking the X18 docs to Barkeep. The info to go to X16 is in the PDA but when I hit the level gate to WT the load screen freezes at CLIENT: Synchronizing..., then when I go to Task Manager to shut down the game I see the Xray debug error message window.

I am running the game patched to 1.003, using the mod patch, and haven't had any other problems except the no dream glitch where you get stuck in the incubator room in X18, which isn't hard to solve. BTW, can you keep that from happening if you take the dream.ltx file out of the mod (gamedataconfigmiscdream.ltx)?

Thanks for the patch support but it looks like it may need another update.

the vodka one requires a pic of the bottle to be added to the equipment main dds but I am no photoshop expert, I wouldn't how to do that.

Sanex has no e-mail I know of, so I can't contact him directly. I have left a message on the comments section of his mod here but he has not replied.

NPC spawns depend on editing the spawn file which, as you have asked too at the GSC forum, there is no english guide currently.

Well actually yes, I originally tried using the Float32 part of the mod by turning on Object Dynamic Lighting but after getting poor perfoprmance and weird graphics problems with the main menu even after dropping settings to Low with Shadow Quality and Lighting Distance all the way down and Grass Density at Med I removed the Shader folder from the mod. The menu and performance problems then went away.

I have a P4 3.0 single core CPU, X800XT, and 1GB RAM. Even with the Float32 mod my system does not appear to be good enough to result in good performance using Dynamic Lighting.

I did have a similar problem crashing at certain points with the AliVe mod when I was using it with Redux and the Compatibility pack made for them. I was kinda pushing it by doing story missions against the AliVe author's recommendation and I couldn't get past the area where you meet the group of STALKERs at Pripyat as the game kept crashing with the same Xray debug error.

Other than that I should mention that after the first bit of gameplay in Cordon I realized I forgot to install the mod patch, so I did't actually install it before playing but slightly after starting though all the saves still worked. One other thing I should note is I tried using a trainer before giving up on AliVe because when I first got to the Pripyat level there were a half dozen Monolith guys right behind me and the STALKERs you're supposed to meet up with were hostile too.

Somehow I ended up playing from a manual save at the start of the road to Pripyat though and there were no Monolith guys so I could just hide around the corner and let the STALKERs take off without incident. I could not stop the crash right after where you meet them though, it must be some kind of trigger point for the AI.

I get the feeling these complex mods with lots of AI changes have to be played carefully. There seem to be some definite dos and don'ts. I may have to reinstall the game if there is file corruption. I think I'll do a complete play through with no mods first to see if I notice anything unusual.

Thanks for the great stuff though Faiakes, and sorry if it was something I did. I'm so addicted to mods like these I can't stand playing the game without them anymore.wink

Anyway, try to reinstall the game after deleting the gamedata folder. Use Faiakes on its own first and add in the other mods one by one to see which is causing the problem.Beer! Beer!

Thanks Meepokman, perhaps I mislead you though with all the talk of AliVe. The only mod I have installed is the latest Faiake (2.2) which includes Float32. However I will remove the mod's shader folder again if I reinstall as it only pertains to Float32, which doesn't work wth my system.

I would also like to know if anyone can tell me if I'm correct about the Dream Mod part of Faiake 2.2 being in gamedata>config>misc>dream.ltx and if removing it will solve the door bug in the incubator room in X18? i don't use the skip nights via dreaming option anyway. To me the darker nights are much of what make it appealing.

Since I have read of others having crash problems with Faiake 2.2 I am hoping there is no game file corruption. It could just be that my system is not robust enough for this or the AliVe mod with all the extra spawning and AI tweaks. I may just try a replay from the start with the existing mod parts intact and see if the same thing happens before doing anything drastic.

I ain't givin up on this mod though, it's too fun to pass up without exhausting all possibilities.

I've modified task_manager.ltx so if you've *****ed off Duty enough, doing enough jobs for Sid will slowly increase your disposition with them.

Not to mention make some of the rewards more reasonable..

Well I uninstalled the mod and played with no mods for 3-4 hours without reinstalling the game and no problems at all so far. I'm pretty sure I have no corrupt game files. If I can't get the mod to work without the crashes I was thinking of removing the AI tweaks along with Float32 and the Dream Mod. I'm not sure how to remove the AI stuff though. I'd like to add the level gates part of Sergy's Vehicles and Monsters pack too, so I can freeroam when I'm done playing. I don't think the problem was caused by any quests added because I never did any side ones.

You must have the patch added. The dream mod is not an issue. Just deleting a file will not remove it, it'll most likely cause a crash.

Also, you can't modify significant mod half-way though a game. Next levels will crash.

Maybe this issue has been found and fixed in a previous release (I started at 2.2), but after the first correct showing of the menu screen it's now all jacked up. The bar that scrolls over the buttons is goobly-gook, the brick wall with the SVD is now in the upper right and in a lower resolution (800x600 prolly). No other probs with this mod that the patch didn't fix (i was crashing at Agro too), and this isn't stopping me from playing, but it's a bug and kinda annoying. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and this Mod Rock
