Fair Trade (1.0b) - File Description

This increases the amount of money various traders will give you for weapons, artifacts, armour, ammo, etc., so you can actually earn money in this game. This mod does nothing to reduce the ridiculous markup that every trader has, however.

By default, this includes luka00's Trader Mod, but if you don't want that included, there's instructions in README.txt on how to change that.

That's it.

You can use/modify this "mod" all you want, so long as you credit me.

By default, it includes luka00's Trader Mod, but if you don't want it, simply overwrite the "trade_trader_mar_csky" in the "trade" folder with the one from the "tradeNo Tradermod" folder.

I'm considering reducing how much Traders pay you, just to add a bit of challenge back, 'cause right now I have a bit too much money.

Any input?

Nice. Yeah, i think perhaps reducing the money they give you might be a good idea if you end up with heaps of cash. I remember even in the unmodded version of SHOC, i always ended up with between $1M and $2M, plus a chest with a mint of each gun in the game and a stack of ammo. Suffice to say i made a lot of trips running around. In CS money is a little more important for upgrading and repairing your stuff, and picking up guns and gear is only really necessary for income and ammo, so i think so long as the average player doesn't end up with a surplus of more than $20k it'll be fine.

They made everything cheaper too. A SEVA suit for less than $20k?!

I used this program to re-start my game seeing as I encountered a GAME ENDING GLITCH/BUG - you should have put some warning/spoiler that this mod was going to sell ALL THE ITEMS IN THE GAME - not cool. How do I stop it from doing that? Does EVERY trader do it? wtf

How expensive or cheap items are at traders depends on a few things:

1) How far you are in the story.

2) How much you've ranked up.

3) How friendly you're with that traders Faction.

4) If you've joined that Faction.

For example, say you've seen a Stalker suit for 12,000 RU at the Loner Trader just past the rail bridge.. If you join the Loners, that suit automatically gets reduced to 4000 RU as a perk for joining that faction.

I am not bragging, but I never have any trouble earning money when I'm playing.

"By default, this includes luka00's Trader Mod, but if you don't want that included, there's instructions in README.txt on how to change that."

I could post it in ALL CAPS if that's clearer...

I realize that, and perhaps in future versions I might balance things out a bit to make higher level items worth less than starting weapons, to implement some sort of monetary difficulty curve. Right now it's the same across all weapons, and same for armour.

Speaking of future versions, I uploaded a newer version today that's pending approval. It will "drastically reduce the payout for weapons/ammo/misc items, somewhat reduced payout for unique items, and artifacts/armour are still the same, because both are damn near impossible to find. Increased the difference between neutral and friendly faction status."

Many thanks but does anyone know about the tradind system in CS? I try to make my own mod, so all traders may buy/ sell nearly anything. What do the values mean and what must I change in which files to get more money for my stuff (but not too much)?
