Improved Sound Effects: Clear Sky (1.2) - File Description  


Description:
This replaces the generic low quality default sound files with higher quality ones. Will also fix sound syncing problems with the default game. This is a continuation of Improved Sound Effects for SoC. Files have been properly commented

Replaced sounds to:
-Weapon Fire, Reload, draw, and holster
-Devices
-PDA
-Bullet hit flesh
-Doors
-bullet whine
-Interface
-3 detectors
-actor footstep and death
-bullet impact
-glass
-wood
-ragdoll
-Nightvision

--CHANGES in v1.2--
-Synced weapon reload sounds (some with config file)
-Reduced weapon sound length to prevent memory usage.
-Grenade Launcher uses correct fire sound.
-Made a new sound for PKM reload as it was using sig220's reload sound.
-SPAZ shotguns now have a weapon cock sound after fire.
-Fixed wincheaster1300 shotgun using SPAZ fire sounds.

(Sound Replacement for Clear Sky)
This replaces the generic low quality default sound files with higher quality ones. Will also fix sound syncing problems with the default game. This is a continuation of Improved Sound Effects for SoC. Files have been properly commented

--v1.2--
-Synced weapon reload sounds (some with config file)
-Reduced weapon sound length to prevent memory usage.
-Grenade Launcher uses correct fire sound.
-Made a new sound for PKM reload as it was using sig220's reload sound.
-SPAZ shotguns now have a weapon cock sound after fire.

open fsgame in the clear sky folder
check if game_data reads true for both if not change false to true

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata

Extract sounds folder into:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Skygamedata
Replace if necessary

Two methods to install this:
A) This will overwrite other weapon configs, use if you donít use them:
Extract configs folder into:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Skygamedataconfigsweapons
Yes to replace

B) This will require that you open those files and make changes to the lines. But will not change the other weapon config besides the sound.

Goto :
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Skygamedataconfigsweapons

1. Open w_pkm
Find
snd_reload = weaponssig550_reload, 0.7, 0.35
and replace with
snd_reload = weaponsdd_pkm_reload, 0.7, 0.35

then
snd_reload = weaponssvd_reload
replace with
snd_reload = weaponsdd_pkm_reload

2. Next open w_rg6
Find
snd_shoot = weaponsn_toz34_shot
replace with
snd_shoot = weaponsgen_grenshoot

then
snd_shoot_duplet = weaponsn_toz34_shot
replace
snd_shoot_duplet = weaponsn_toz34_shot

then
snd_shoot_1 = weaponsn_toz34_shot
replace
snd_shoot_1 = weaponsgen_grenshoot

3. Open w_wincheaster1300
snd_shoot = weaponsn_spas12_shot
replace
snd_shoot = weaponsdd_n_w1300_shot

then
snd_shoot_duplet = weaponsn_spas12_shot
replace
snd_shoot_duplet = weaponsdd_n_w1300_shot

If you donít have a file in your gamedata you can just extract the missing weapon cofig file from the mod.

If you want to uninstall just delete the files that came with this mod.
or
Delete the sound folder
Delete w_pkm, w_rg6, and w_wincheaster1300 from config/weapons folder

Check your sounds before you release them. Your sound pack causes weird errors and CTD's.

What errors are you getting? in the console? I haven't had any problems during my test runs. Does the CTD say anything about weapons or sounds?

Literally.. The game ctd's right on startup lol. I'm sticking with JoshaC1's sounds for now.

I told you.. All that was in my log file was this:

Thats it.. It just shows my system specs, that it was trying to start the game engine and then ctd as it was starting and under the stack trace was the number "6"

I remove your sound mod and bam, it works again.

Not as much changes but:

Replaced Sounds to:
Barrel
Metal
RPG Explosions
Heli explosion and rocket

-Switched and some footstep sounds
-Synced hunting rifle and sawn-off shotgun reload.
-Fixed sig550 reload and fire (whoops)

Slight update:

--v1.3a--
-Changed 2nd rifle Silent fire sound
-Lowered footsteps and contact sound volume by 50%
-Slight change to fire sounds
